Our ingredients
To make our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our pellets. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.
Buffalo
At Yourdog we use meat from free-raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetable
Super healthy vegetables have been added to our food to provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients. For example, vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient that we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Visigoth spitz specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Visigothic Spitz. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Visigothic spitz belongs. From these studies, ingredients have been selected in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Visigoth spitz.
Licorice root
Licorice root is derived from the Greek glyks for Œsweet and rhiza for Œroot, so it is also called Glycyrrhiza glabra. The origin of the plant is in Eurasia, North Africa and West Asia. From ancient times, medicinal properties have been attributed to licorice and the root is often used for the preparation of herbal teas.
Licorice root would have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and would also have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. In addition, it can contribute to the recovery of the gastric mucosa and would be good for a sensitive gastrointestinal system.
Marigold
The marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like the goldenrod, belongs to the composite family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for many years for its various medicinal properties. The original calendula species was probably in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold hardly occurs in the wild anymore. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.
There is a lot of information to be found about the positive effect of calendula. Calendula can be added by us to the dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes and feet. Especially good for restoring the skin and mucous membranes, it has an anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestion process.
Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for, among other things, scratches or skin problems. But it can also be used internally because of its regenerating properties.
Mango
Mango belongs to the genus Mangifera and probably originates from northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a drupe with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.
This tasty summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C and E and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene and alpha-carotene. Furthermore, mango contains many healthy dietary fibers that contribute to strengthening the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant (vitamin C) contributes to the support of vital body functions. Vitamin A is packed with beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve eyesight.
We add mango to our dog food, because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's resistance and healthy digestion. In addition, mango can support the dog's eyesight.
Puppy, adult or senior?
To help you make the right choice between our varieties of Visigoth spitz dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Visigothic spitz is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Visigothic Spitz older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Visigothic Spitz senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult version.

Switching advice
If you switch to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely over to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Visigoth spitz dog food.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. That is why it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to put it in the barrel with the whole bag, which you close again as well as possible.
