Our ingredients

To make our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our pellets. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog we use meat from free-raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetable

Super healthy vegetables have been added to our food to provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients. For example, vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The raw fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, so that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the health of the dog.

Spices

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweed has its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient that we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Irish red and white setter specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Irish Red and White Setter. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Irish Red & White Setter belongs. From these studies, ingredients have been selected in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Irish Red and White Setter.

Nettle

Nettle is a plant genus of which the large nettle and the small nettle occur in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood purifying effect. According to various sources, nettle is bactericidal and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the functioning of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste. In addition, it works to support the bladder and hair growth of the dog.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building material that is part of connective tissue in, among other things, the bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair and nails. Silicon supports the natural production of the skin (cells) and ensures the maintenance of healthy skin.

At Yourdog we add nettle to our dog food, because it can make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to the dog's coat, skin and bones, but also to prevent digestive and/or urinary problems .

Yucca

This plant grows in the deserts of Southwest America and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used for centuries by the Indians in these areas as a medicine for rheumatism and arthritis. It reduces pain and inflammation in the joints.

Yucca can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to the prevention of breed-specific complaints in relation to rheumatism, arthritis, arthrosis, the intestines and the heart. Yucca can also reduce the odor of the stool and cure bad wind.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant of the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. The cultivation of raspberries dates back to the Middle Ages and occurs naturally throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many substances that can support the health of the dog, such as vitamins such as vitamin C, minerals such as manganese and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fiber.

Raspberry is added to our dog food because of its anti-inflammatory properties and it can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also contribute to the maintenance of vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.

The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely over to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Irish Red and White Setter dog food.

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. That is why it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place.
