Our ingredients

To make our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our pellets. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog we use meat from free-raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Dutch smoushond. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Dutch smoushond belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Dutch smoushond.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a food supplement with an exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?

It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals, such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and potassium and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can contribute to dog health and well-being in an overall sense. In addition, it can help support the immune system and promote healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also has a detoxifying effect and promotes digestion.

Mango

Mango belongs to the genus Mangifera and probably originates from northeastern India and Southeast Asia. It is a drupe with varying shapes and grows on a tree that can reach a height of 40 meters.

This tasty summer treat is packed with essential vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, B6, C and E and is rich in potassium, beta-carotene and alpha-carotene. Furthermore, mango contains many healthy dietary fibers that contribute to strengthening the immune system and digestion. The natural antioxidant (vitamin C) contributes to the support of vital body functions. Vitamin A is packed with beta-carotene, which can help maintain and improve eyesight.

We add mango to our dog food, because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's resistance and healthy digestion. In addition, mango can support the dog's eyesight.

Celery

Celery is a plant of the umbellifer family. The plant can often be found along the coast on wet soil.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fiber and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to supporting the dog's immune system and digestive system. It can also have a positive influence on the skin and coat, the functioning of the muscles and nerves through vitamin A and the maintenance of strong bones through vitamin K.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our varieties of Dutch smoushond dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Dutch smoushond is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Dutch smoushond older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Dutch smoushond senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you switch to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely over to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Dutch smoushond dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. That is why it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to put it in the barrel with the whole bag, which you close again as well as possible.
