Our ingredients

To make our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better in our pellets. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog we use meat from free-raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is full of vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetable

Super healthy vegetables have been added to our food to provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients. For example, vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The raw fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, so that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the health of the dog.

Spices

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweed has its origins back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient that we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

German wirehaired pointer specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the German Wirehaired Pointer. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the German wirehaired pointer belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionist, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the German Wirehaired Pointer.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a body's own substance that can be found in joints, cartilage, synovial fluid and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage and keeps joints flexible.

Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case with older dogs, or (too) heavy dogs, but also increasingly with younger, very active dogs. For example, due to a hereditary predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.

Chondroitin

Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the main components of the cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and retain moisture, which should provide a spongy spring in the cartilage.

Chondroitin improves the flexibility of the cartilage and also has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, it also stimulates the production of the building blocks that serve for healthy cartilage.

If chondroitin is given in combination with glucosamine, it supports and enhances the effect of glucosamine. It is therefore often given as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heath family of plants and grow mainly in the open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is said to be known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fiber for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. It could support the immune system and contribute to the overall health of the dog.

Switching advice

If you switch to Yourdog from another feed brand, we advise you to follow the following steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then you feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. Then you mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely over to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog German Wirehaired Pointer dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect the shelf life and taste. That is why it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to put it in the barrel with the whole bag, which you close again as well as possible.
